Being a highly curious person, Anna has R&D experience and expertise in the fields of secure & distributed AI, IoT, semantics & ontology engineering, data analysis, planning, decision support, privacy-aware data sharing and service engineering. She has applied this knowledge in various fields, such as smart & connected products, energy & sustainability, logistics, smart cities, cyber-physical systems, dynamic construction and runtime adaptation of service mashups, eCare home automation, context and situational awareness, ambient and wearable intelligence, emergency management, bioinformatics and swarm robotics.
Anna joined the Software Engineering Group at Sirris in November 2016. This position allows her to utilise and expand her research & innovation management and coordination skills, industrial valorisation potential and technological knowledge within the secure & distributed AI domain. Anna is active both in large European R&D programmes, and national VLAIO & Innoviris calls .
Anna obtained her Ph.D. (and M.Sc.) degree in January 2013 in Computer Science Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture of Ghent University, Belgium. Between 2013-2015 she worked as a postdoctoral researcher affiliated with the Department of Information Technology of Ghent University (iMinds).
