I am enthusiastic to share my passions and knowledge as a researcher, and to contribute to your innovations. In addition, Sirris’s goal to transform scientific and technological ideas into tangible innovative industrial applications appeals to my sense of curiosity, understanding and creativity.
As an experienced scientist in the fields of chemistry, material sciences and crystallography, R&D plays a key role throughout my career. I have worked at various research institutes (scientific centres and universities) and in industry on a wide variety of fundamental and applied research projects. Over the past 15 years, I secured funding and managed research projects, produced demonstrators and/or methods, and transferred potential technological opportunities to industry.
Recent research topics were related to the fields of functionalised polymers, photo-bioreactors, medical devices/applications, recycling, filtration, nano technology, composites and bio-sourced materials.
I earned a PhD in Chemistry (crystallography) from University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands, and European Synchrotron Radiation Facility, Grenoble, France. I have a Master’s Degree in Chemistry (solid state chemistry) from Leiden University, The Netherlands.
